Goin Home...May 2009

So we finally made it home for our annual visit a few weeks ago. Unfortunately Jim was unable to join us because of his training schedule. It all worked out though since I got to shop to my heart's content. I even managed to squeeze in a few visits with family and friends.

It was a tricky time to fly Space A (when isn't it) and it took me almost a week of changing flight schedules to finally get picked up for something close to home. It was incredibly frustrating and sometimes I think it's almost worth it to fly commercial. At least that way it's a guarantee. I have the best kids though, because they never fussed once during an 8 1/2 hour plane ride followed by an almost 10 hour car ride to Boston. If only we could eliminate Connecticut from the map...

I took lots of pictures, so I will mostly let them speak for themselves.

I love going home. There is no other place like it. Most of my family and friends are there. The beginning of mine and Jim's life together is there. I can drive almost anywhere without even being conscious of it. Everyone there talks like me (or at least like I used to). I love the Red Sox and the Patriots to a fault and seek out like minded "Massholes" wherever we reside. Who knows if we'll ever end up back there one day, but for now we are happy to visit home and live all over the world.

Danielle,
Your kids are getting so big! Couch arm chair covers are definitely the way to go. Glad you had a great visit. We miss you!
