Endings and Beginnings...

My amazingly smart daughter has finished out first grade with a beginning third grade reading level! We are so proud of her and I will never regret the decision to put her in school early. This week the class hosted an Author's Tea where we got to go in and sit with our child and read over many of the projects they have done throughout the year. I noticed a major improvement in Rhiannon's writing over the course of the year. The same day the first graders put on a vocabulary parade. Each student chose a word, defined the word on a poster and dressed as the word. Rhi chose bones and we took apart our Halloween skeleton and attached various bones to her clothes.
Her friends were Jenny dressed as teeth, Madison dressed as dapper, Dakota dressed as a tornado and Justin dressed as a pyramid. They all looked so creative and did a fantastic job. I will miss the first grade and her very patient and hard working teacher Mrs. Herndon. The year has gone by too fast.

One of the reasons I love Europe...condensed mattresses!

Cut the ties and poof, insta mattress. This super easy packaging method fit nicely into my car and it wasn't awkward for me to carry it. And yes it is a real mattress. So anyway...on to the beginnings...Rhi is now the proud owner of a full size bed. Brad is now the owner of Rhi's former twin bed. My kiddos are growing up fast and I have to say some things are changing for the better. Goodbye crib forever!
