July Was a Busy Month...

In our circle of friends, July was the month to have a baby. I have lost count of the birthday celebrations we've attended and the August pile keeps growing. It has been great weather all month, so in addition to lots of parties we've gone blueberry picking and sunflower picking. Brad turned 3, started his first day of German Kindergarten and has a few famous new expressions that I hear a lot; "I'm very so sad Mommy" and "I'm so starving, I'm so hungry!" and I got three new tattoos! And finally, 8 years later, Jim and I relived our first date and went to a U2 concert here in Germany. It was so much better the second time around, aside from the stingweed that burned the back of my legs when I got out of the car to pee. I'm still coming down from the high of a great show with my husband, reliving the memories and events that brought us from that day so long ago to where we are now... It really does seem like only yesterday.

Blueberry Picking

Now I have enough blueberries to munch on (even though Brad ate seemingly every berry I picked) as well as whip up some baked goods, blueberry jelly, blueberry martinis and blueberry wine, which I'll start making this weekend to drink next fall.

Brad's First Day of School

He looks excited here but was a blubbering mess when I went to leave. He said, "I need to go home now!" By day two, he was barreling into the room and he loves his new teacher Anika.

U2 and Snow Patrol Concert

I know we look so young in that picture taken the night we met. A few days later we went to our first U2 concert with tickets that fell into my lap. Who better to bring than this guy Jim who I had just met? Way to win him over I think... It meant so much to me to be able to go with him again and we had a perfect time! I love you hubs!
